Dental filling is a restorative dentistry where a dental material such as composite is filled into the crack or cavity to save affected tooth.
If a dental crack or cavity is not filled in time, it may progress and affect the pulp. Once the pulp is affected, then it requires more intensive root canal treatment. Filling is done to seal the crack and cavity to stop its progression.
A variety of dental filling is available, but in our clinic, we recommend using nano composite for its durability and natural-looking. Glass-ionomer cement (GIC) is also a white or tooth-colored filling material, but it is not as strong as composite resin.
